⏲ April 15, 2025
REMINDER: The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 1- 3 p.m. this Saturday, April 19, with the egg hunt likely starting promptly at 1 pm (no holding the kids back!). There will also be crafts and games and playtime and snacks. This year, we will use the common property behind 10920 – 10924 and up the hill in front and back of those houses and the Tot Lot for hunting and activities. If anyone can be available around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday to hide eggs and help set up, tell John/David and/or show up. We do ask that you please do not let your kids play at the Tot Lot while we are setting up late Saturday morning. A quick RSVP attending would also be appreciated to assure we have plenty of supplies. All are welcome! So bring a basket, plan on (read: count on) taking pictures, and if the weather is really lousy – check this site for information.
Last Glass Recycling Tomorrow
⏲ April 3, 2025
A friendly reminder: The last glass recycling pickup will be early tomorrow morning, Friday, April 4. Please leave all clean/ rinsed glass jars and bottles at your curbside tonight. Please- no lids, corks, bottle tops and no mirrors, light bulbs or candle wax jars.
Yard Waste Pickup
⏲ March 28, 2025
We are still trouble shooting the pickup of yard waste by American. Please be sure all yard waste is in the large brown bags at curbside for Wednesday pickup. (If yard waste is inadvertently packaged in regular black plastic garbage bags but recognized as yard waste, it will not be picked up with the regular trash as apparently Fairfax County imposes fines on the companies during this season of the year for mixing these contents at the dump site.) If your yard waste pickup does not occur, please contact David and we will continue to work with American in securing this service.
Keep the Date – Road Paving – March 10-15
⏲ January 5, 2025

The work will take two days and is scheduled for March 10th through 15th, weather permitting.
All vehicles will need to be removed from the parking lots by 6:00 AM the morning of and will not be permitted to park in our lots until 2 DAYS AFTER (March 17th) to allow for the pavement to properly dry.
Trash Delay
⏲ December 18, 2024
Due to the incoming inclement weather, our trash vendor, American Disposal, is not running any trucks today but will pick up our trash/recycling tomorrow. Please feel free to leave your trash curbside until tomorrow’s pickup.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for bearing with us.
Water Reminders
⏲ December 11, 2024
With below-freezing temperatures upon us, don’t be caught off guard by leaving outside faucets turned on and vulnerable to freezing and bursting. Often, these mishaps can cause real damage if the water continues to flow after the faucet breaks under pressure.
Please find the valve that connects your inside plumbing to the outside faucet and shut it off. You may have one valve for the front of your home and one for the back. Be sure to shut both off.
Thank you.

Snow Removal Reminders
⏲ November 23, 2024
With winter upon us, here is a reminder of the essential dos and don’ts for dealing with the snow in our cluster:
The plow will be out whenever we get 2+ inches of snow.
It is your responsibility to shovel out your parking spaces and the common sidewalk in front of your house.
Please do not use salt or chemical ice melt on the common sidewalks. Any chemical ice melt, even those that are “environmentally safe,” still degrade concrete over time and will damage turf or plants.
Please shovel out fire hydrants near your area, so that they are visible.
Quarterly Dues Increase Notice
⏲ October 7th, 2024
As previously communicated, our quarterly dues are increasing to $500 in January.
Speeding Reminder
⏲ August 10, 2024
Recently there have been some incidents people driving too fast in our cluster. Residents are reminded that the posted speed limit for our cluster is 15 miles per hour and there are stop signs on almost every intersection. Please drive carefully.
Annual Meeting Date Posted
⏲ July 20, 2024
Please save the date and plan to attend the Pimmit Square Annual Town Hall Meeting which will be held on September 7, at the home of Robert Jones (President). We will be discussing numerous items which include future quarterly costs.
Retaining Wall Approved
⏲ April 14, 2024
As you may have heard, permits to replace our retaining wall have been approved!
We are planning to start construction on next Monday. Construction will continue for about 2 weeks.
To ensure your vehicles aren’t damaged during construction we ask that you please not park next to the wall until all work is completed and we reopen the parking area.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this project. For questions, comments or concerns please contact Robert Jones (president@pimmitsquare.org).
Summer is Coming
⏲ April 2, 2024
With summer bringing in more visitors and students returning home for the summer, please be mindful of the following parking guidelines so that we all have the parking spaces we expect.
The square has enough parking spaces for every unit to have 2 spots with around 5 left over for visitors. If you have a third vehicle, you must park it in spaces that are not typically occupied by the first 2 vehicles. If there is not enough space to park a third vehicle in some areas of the parking lot, you must park it somewhere else, NOT in the neighborhood.
If you have guests visiting (especially on weekday evenings when residents are typically coming home from work), please ask them to park in a visitor spot or ourside the neighborhood so as not to take up other residents’ spaces .
Unassigned parking has worked well in our cluster for over 40 years and the recent survey results indicate that the majority of respondents want to keep it that way. For it to continue to work, however, we must be able to talk to one another and continue to be courteous and kind.
And as a reminder, we have a speed bump in the parking lot, and we trust that everyone will exercise caution and drive slowly through the cluster. Children play in the parking lot and many parking spaces are on curves where it is difficult to see approaching vehicles. So please keep your neighbors’ safety in mind when entering the parking lot and DRIVE SLOW, even near the entrance.
Thanks

WARNING- SUSPICIOUS PERSON IN AREA
⏲ January 28, 2024
There have been reports of a man approaching women asking them for a ride. The police have been notified and are on the lookout.
Please stay safe and make sure your doors are locked. If you see this individual, contact the police.
Waste Disposal
⏲ December 17, 2023
We have received some complaints about trash (mainly food items) ending up in residents’ yards and in our common areas. If you’re putting trash out in plastic bags and not in sealed garbage bins, please make sure to pick up any items that animals may have pulled out of your bags. Regrettably, what you don’t pick up ends up in the stormwater drains and subsequently in the creek behind our cluster
Inspections
⏲ September 11, 2023
We will begin the inspections in the next few weeks. A checklist will be used to ensure we are fair and look at the same things for every house. Items we are looking to see if everyone’s lawn and landscaping is well maintained (grass mowed, bushes trimmed, no dead landscaping or trees). We will also be looking at the exterior of your home, decks, and fences to make sure the siding/wood is clean, among other things. We will also be looking for trash/recycle cans that are visible from the sidewalk, and general debris in yards. Lastly we will be looking for vehicles in the parking lot that are not properly registered and licensed in the state of Virginia. These will be towed.
If an item is identified that needs your attention, you will be notified via email with a deadline for addressing the issue, and a followup inspection will be conducted. Please be sure to address the issue in a timely manner to avoid being turned over to Reston Association for the violation.
While members of the Board will be conducting the inspections, if any homeowner would like to join the team, please send Robert an email (president@pimmitsquare.org)
Thank you.

New Website
⏲ April 17, 2023
This is the inaugural post on our new website, pimmitsquare.org. Thanks to Robert and Mark's tech skills and IT support, we have migrated our documents and such over to the google suite (g-suite) and will now be utilizing a shared cloud drive rather than paper filing. For access to this drive, please email Robert (president@pimmitsquare.org).
We will also be posting important information on this site, regarding inspection dates, meetings, and other general updates.
The previous domain, pimmitsquare.com, will redirect here (again, pimmitsquare.org) for one year, before being taken down and rendered inactive.
Please contact Robert (president@pimmitsquare.org) with any questions.
Thank you.
